Vittorio Moretti has always felt a deep bond of love for the land. He never forgot the memories of his carefree childhood summers spent in the countryside with his maternal grandparents and revived them many years later when he decided to \u2018turn to agriculture\u2019 and become a winegrower. His determination, led by his intuition, started to shape the future: thoughts and actions nourished each other, turning into an unstoppable chain of events. This is how Bellavista emerged, in the heart of Franciacorta. <\/span><\/p>

In the beginning it was just a few hectares, a family home and an adjacent winery, alongside the aspiration to make good wine to share with friends. But the power of Vittorio Moretti\u2019s dream was overwhelming, fuelling his innate inclination to achieve perfection in everything he does. Subsequent trips to France were decisive: there he was immersed in a new ambience, learning from the great masters, and he discovered places and people whose existence revolved around wine. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

FRANCIACORTA: THE INVENTION OF THE PLACE<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tA land reborn, echoing with ancient splendour. This geographical area was formed during the glaciations of the Secondary and Tertiary geological eras resulting from the movement of the great glacier from Val Camonica. \nIts main characteristics derive from its morainic origins: coexistence of very different soils, rich in silt, sand and stones but poor in clay.\nAlready renowned for its flourishing vineyards at the time of Pliny and Virgil, Franciacorta was regarded as a thriving and successful wine-growing and production area as early as the Middle Ages.\nIn the 1970s, however, this area experienced a revival that stemmed from the vision of some enlightened entrepreneurs, including Vittorio Moretti, and began to express its vocation as the ideal region for the production of outstanding Italian sparkling wines.\nThis rebirth did not just focus on the product. The founding fathers conducted research and experimentation, creating a hub in which business planning and the pleasure of hospitality merged. Each contributed according to his ambition but they all shared the important aim of creating a constructive interaction between wine, landscape and identity. This is how Franciacorta, as we know it today, came about. THE HOUSE ON THE BELLAVISTA HILL\n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIn name as in nature: the Bellavista hill stands at the centre of the morainic amphitheatre of Franciacorta. Its ancient name is now imbued with promise. It underpins decision making as regards the best vine row exposures to yield cuv\u00e9es that express the intrinsic harmony and finesse of the terroir. \nThis is a special place, manifesting the love that is felt for the land, as well as the desire to take care of it.\nThe Moretti family has its home and its winery here, each being an extension of the other, testifying to Vittorio Moretti\u2019s wish to constantly maintain a watchful and protective eye on what surrounds him.\nOn the slopes of the hill lies a sculpture park, with the large swing sculpture called Vertigine, created by Velasco Vitali. A celebration of the genius loci or \u2018spirit of the place\u2019, it highlights the area as a space to live in and identify with, where natural, architectural and artistic elements become parts of a unique and recognizable experience, eloquent totems of this great dream.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Vittorio Moretti inherited from his father a history of architects and builders, with roots that can be traced back to the 1400s, while from his mother he learned the sensitivity for the land and for its care. His entire entrepreneurial history stems from this dual input, which translates into a family feeling. The harmony of beauty and attention to the land become a daily commitment engaging both the imagination and personal tenacity. What is good and useful is bound to a desire for beauty, the quest for excellence and wonder translates into a passion to share with those you love. <\/p>

Today, Terra Moretti operates in three sectors: industrialized construction, hospitality and wineries. Since 1967, the family holding company has branched off in several directions: Moretti, a company that designs and constructs large buildings in concrete, wood and multi-material; L\u2019Albereta in Franciacorta and L\u2019Andana with Tenuta la Badiola in Tuscany, two resorts and two regions but a single concept and approach to hospitality. Six wineries in three regions: Bellavista and Contadi Castaldi in Franciacorta; Petra, Teruzzi and Acquagiusta in Tuscany; Sella&Mosca with Casa VillaMarina in Sardinia.
Since 2018, Terra Moretti has also worked on the conservation and enhancement of the historic Convento dell\u2019Annunciata in Franciacorta, the headquarters of Fondazione Vittorio and Mariella Moretti. The Foundation was set up in the same year to promote and pass on the founding ideals and ethos of the group to the new generations, alongside the values that underscore the identity of a land. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\tWe believe in everything that can enthuse and engage. We embrace visions of the future that can amaze, striving to make them our own. We enable projects to evolve, rooting ourselves in our current space and time, but with an eye constantly focused on a new and possible future, because it is only by beginning with pride and love for one\u2019s land and its people that the best initiatives can emerge. We chose a photograph of ourselves taken by Oliviero Toscani, which portrays us a few years ago when there was still much to write about our history, but we all had the same desire in our eyes and hearts: to draw inspiration from the simple things in life and nature, to venture forth together to where we had never been. There is still a long way to go, the road changes before our eyes every day, and still, it manages to surprise us. But what really matters is to keep our eyes on the road ahead.
